Eliminating Plantar Warts - 7 Easy Yet Powerful Treatments

Warts that develop on the plantar area located on the sole of the foot are called plantar warts. Warts are likely to develop if the skin is infected with a highly contagious type of virus called the human papilloma virus. According to the statistics revealed by medical research experiments, the human papilloma virus or HPV has affected more than 40 percentage of people all over the world. As of today, this is one of the most common type of viral infection in the whole world. To get rid of plantar warts, many different types of natural and holistic treatment methods are available today. This is the only place that these warts form and because of the thickness of the skin on the feet aggressive treatments can be used that might not be advisable on other parts of the body. In this article we will concentrate on holistic treatments that help to get rid of plantar warts.

1. Hot Water Soak - Water which is very hot can be utilized in softening the hard tissue that makes up plantar warts so that the wart may be more easily removed. Place your feet in a tub of hot water for at least ten minutes so that the hard tissue of the plantar warts get softened enough. After softening of the warts is accomplished with hot water treatment, the wart tissue can be removed by use of an abrasive tool for example a pumice stone or an emery board.

2. Use Vinegar - One natural substance that would be of great help in getting rid of plantar warts is apple cider vinegar and this works on the warts in two different ways. Apple cider vinegar is acidic in nature and this eats away the hard tissue of the warts. It also helps to destroy the HPV virus which is responsible for the wart formation. This is made possible due to the astringent effects of the apple cider vinegar. Soaking the wart area in apple cider vinegar solution is recommended. Increase the dilution by adding extra water if in case your skin is highly sensitive to apple cider vinegar.

3. Aspirin Use - Another holistic treatment to get rid of plantar warts is the use of aspirin. In this method you don't ingest the aspirin, instead you need to keep the aspirin tablet over the wart and fasten it with a band aid. The tablet needs to be changed at least two times everyday.

4. Baking Soda - An abrasive and alkaline paste can be made out of baking powder and water. Rub the wart vigorously three times a day with this paste.

5. Banana Use - Yet another way of eliminating the warts naturally is to treat it with a banana peel. Secure a small piece of banana peel over the warts with a help of tape. The peel must be left until it has become too dry and then it could be changed for a fresh one.

6. Garlic Rub - Garlic can be used in several different ways to help eliminate plantar warts. You can treat the warts by rubbing an entire clove of garlic over it. This needs to be repeated at least thrice everyday. An entire clove can be taped securely over the wart and left for a week. Diced garlic and garlic oil can also be used as rub.

7. Use Aloe Vera - A wonderful natural substance which is highly recommended for the treatment of plantar warts by medical experts is aloe vera gel. The gel is an anti-inflammatory, an antiseptic and a topical analgesic. You can put the gel on as many times as you want during the day and before going to bed put on a good coat so it can work on the wart overnight.
