Making major life changes all at once with a full-blown exercise program and a total diet makeover are usually a recipe for failure. Sure, there are a small number of folks who can just do this kind of thing. However, the great majority of people will find it a difficult experience to sustain these kinds of changes all in one go. So we always advise you to just do things slowly, ease in your new exercise routine and your new diet.

A very important activity you can do is resistance training. This approach to working out with a home exercise bike can give many benefits. Regular resistance training has an important principle behind it. Your body will respond in a particular way with constant resistance training, and this is shown by scientific research. Fat stores are burnt rather than muscle because you body knows to look for fat. For your body to do this we believe is very special. Constant resistance training is how you develop your muscles and body to burn fat over muscle.

Taking out food with high fat content from their diet is something people think they should do. Going in the opposite direction and eating all the high fat food you like, we agree you cannot do this. To stop eating fat completely is a bad idea, you should just eat less high fat foods. The reason is to do with the principle of starvation. Starving your body of something will cause you to store it next time you get some, when you would normally use it straight away. Storing more fat is caused by depriving your body of the fat it needs normally.

Getting your body to burn fat and not muscle is a important consideration in the whole process. A proper diet and psychological aspect is something most people don't have appreciation for.

Working out can be easy if you find exercises that you really enjoy doing. The same method works for a good diet which helps fat burn and not muscle. So many foods should make it easier for you to do this. Do not box yourself into the diets you hear about most, there are others. Around the world there are many dietary techniques that are extremely healthy and work great. We have discussed some scientific and common sense approaches so you can burn fat and not your muscles.
