Chronic Yeast Infections - Natural Remedies For Chronic Candida

By Joshua Townsend

A yeast infection is something that happens naturally, and most women will have to deal with at one point or another. But then there is chronic Candida, which can happen frequently and prove to be a major problem in a person's life, physically, emotionally and more. It's hard to live a normal and happy life when you have to suffer through chronic yeast infections on a regular basis.

There are some natural remedies that can be used to remove this problem but they do take some time. Even the most healthy person will have a natural amount of yeast in their body. The problem comes when the yeast begins to grow out of control. This is when it is important to take a look at the remedies that are most effective. Some are very easy and others can seem to be fairly difficult.

The first way to combat chronic yeast infections is to begin removing factors which are new, or have changed. For example, if you just started taking a new birth control pill, and now you're getting yeast infections, then stop taking that and try a new one, and see what happens. The hormone changes that birth control causes can certainly lead to yeast growth and infections.

There are other things to consider that may reduce the likelihood that you will experience chronic yeast infections. First, do not wear underwear that is too tight that is made of cotton. If you have gone swimming, change out of your wet bathing suit as soon as you possibly can. Only take antibiotics when it is prescribed by your physician. If you are diabetic you should do all that you can to keep your blood sugar levels at a controlled level. Be sure that you rise your mouth out immediately after using a steroid that is inhaled due to asthma.

One final, more simple treatment for Chronic Candida, is to track how often you seem to be infected by it. If you seem to have multiple infections, ask your sexual partner to get treatment as well. It is possible for your partner to be infected by to show no signs. If they are willing to be treated as well, you can prevent yourself from being reinfected. If they are not willing to get treatment, ask them to use a condom so that you can protect yourself.

Chronic yeast infections can also be combated by changing your nutritional program. Yeast growth can be spurred on by lots of sugars, fermented foods, fungus and vinegars. By removing these types of things from your diet, you can make great strides. Remove unhealthy processed white breads and white flour from your diet, and other yeasty foods. Don't eat mushrooms, don't have a lot of sugar, and don't have a lot of vinegar. Also try restricting your alcohol consumption. If you make strict changes to your diet in these areas, you can see very quick and dramatic benefits.

Another tool in your arsenal should be the bacteria known as acidophilus, which can fight off growing yeast. This bacteria is already found in our digestive tract, so it's safe, and with increased levels of it, it will counteract yeast which is growing too quickly. Anytime you take an antibiotic, for example, you can supplement yourself with this bacteria to help ward off a chronic Candida problem.

Nobody wants to deal with chronic yeast infections, and they aren't always easy to treat. However, with the right natural remedies, you can know what to do to move ahead and see quicker results.
