Getting rid of Acne Scars and Blemishes Naturally

Many people are in search of natural methods to combat acne scars and other marks left by acne. Fortunately, there are some methods that can be used to eradicate these unsightly blemishes left behind by acne.

The silver lining behind home remedies for acne blemishes is the low cost because most of the ingredients are readily available in your home. Home remedies, however, do have a downside, especially the time it takes to notice the effects and the variation of the results from person to person. But patience, in this case, is a virtue.

How to Get Rid of Acne Scars

Before you begin a routine that includes a home remedy for acne scars and marks, wash your face with warm water. Don't forget to test the product on a small patch of skin to make sure it doesn't produce irritation or an allergic reaction. Also keep in mind that a gentler version of the following remedies can be achieved by using small amounts of water.

Garlic

Garlic is on of those wonder foods that seem to be good for all kinds of ailments. In this case it has also been used to treat acne scars. If you choose to use garlic, though, take care to rinse it off immediately if you feel a burning sensation.

To use the garlic, finely grate one clove of garlic and mix it with two tablespoons of water. Apply the paste directly to the area and massage carefully. The garlic exfoliates the skin and removes a layer of scar tissue, so don't let it set for more than 5 minutes.

Always apply aloe vera directly to the treated area after you have washed off the garlic paste. The aloe vera will hydrate your skin and provide protection without further irritation.

Lemons and Tomatoes

Both lemons and tomatoes contain high amounts of citric acid which has been shown to have excellent cleansing and rejuvenating properties. They have been used in natural skin treatment for centuries. Due to their high Vitamin A content, tomatoes in particular reduce the production of sebum.

If you choose lemon juice, simply squeeze one tablespoon of juice. Simply apply the lemon juice with a cotton ball to your skin before bedtime. Leave it on for about ten minutes and clean the area with a mild cleanser.

Tomato juice can be also be applied directly to the skin with a cotton ball. Rinse after 10 minutes.

It is advisable to used fresh natural products. Canned products contain preservatives and additives that my cause side effects and reduce the effect of the natural components.
